Absolutely magical during the lantern festival! We stumbled in by accident and the whole place was lit up with red lanterns. The chanting and the smell of sandalwood made it feel like stepping into another world. The vegetarian restaurant on site is a hidden gem too—try the mock duck. 10/10 experience!

Decent temple but overhyped in my opinion. The jade Buddha is cool but you're not allowed to take photos inside the hall, which is fair but frustrating. The gift shop is overpriced. It's clean and peaceful enough, but I'd give it 3 stars—I've had more memorable temple experiences in smaller cities.

Came on a weekday morning and it was blissfully quiet. The jade Buddha sitting in the back hall is breathtaking—the light hitting the stone, the calm expression… totally worth the trip. Also got to watch some locals praying which felt authentic. Would recommend going early.

Honestly a bit let down. The main hall is beautiful but the place was absolutely packed with tour groups. Could barely get a good look at the Buddha. Also, the entry fee feels steep for what you get—there's not much beyond the main halls. If you've seen one temple in China, you've kind of seen them all.

Loved the serene atmosphere here. The jade Buddha statues are absolutely stunning—you can really feel the craftsmanship. The temple grounds are well maintained, and the incense smell adds to the peace. Just wish there was more English signage for non-Chinese speakers. Still, a must-see in Shanghai!
