Honestly, I was a bit let down. The park is beautiful and the architecture is stunning, but the operations are messy. We waited 45 minutes for the shuttle bus from the parking lot, and then another 2 hours for the main roller coaster. Several food stalls were closed by 4pm. For the price they charge, I expected way better organization. Not planning to return soon.
I've been to Universal Orlando and Hollywood, and this Beijing version holds its own. The scale is huge and the theming is top-notch. The new Kung Fu Panda area is unique and beautiful. Downsides: some ride effects were broken (the Harry Potter ride had glitching screens), and the souvenir prices are insane. But if you love theme parks, it's worth a visit.
I came with my family during summer vacation and it was packed. The kids loved Minion Land and the water play area. The shows were surprisingly well done — especially the nighttime light show at the castle. Only complaint is that the lockers for the rides cost extra and the app kept crashing when we tried to reserve. Still a happy day overall.
Overall a solid theme park, but some things could be better. The Harry Potter section is fantastic — the Forbidden Journey ride is a must-do. However, the food options are overpriced and pretty mediocre. Also, the wait times were brutal even on a weekday (90 minutes for Transformers). I'd recommend going with lower expectations on the dining side.
We spent two days here and it was absolutely magical. The Jurassic World ride blew my mind — the drop is way more intense than I expected. The staff were incredibly friendly and the whole park felt super clean and immersive. Definitely worth the ticket price, especially if you grab the Express Pass. Can't wait to come back!
Absolutely blown away. The attention to detail in every land is phenomenal — the Jurassic Park theme music playing near the lagoon gave me chills. Our group of four did all the major rides by 3 PM thanks to smart use of single rider lines. The Kaleyard (Chinese food court) had fantastic noodles for a fair price. The evening drone show was a perfect end to the day. Will definitely return.
Honestly, after all the hype I was a bit let down. The Hogwarts castle is gorgeous from the outside but the queue areas felt stuffy and the special effects on Escape from Gringotts were showing their age. Paid 18 bucks for a soggy pizza slice near the lagoon. The staff at the hotel shuttle was polite, but the park experience itself felt rushed and overcrowded. Not the magical day I hoped for.
I took my family here during a weekday in late April, and while the park was cleaner than most, the wait times for the big rides were still over 90 minutes. The Transformers ride broke down while we were in line — they gave us a free drink voucher, which was nice but didn’t make up for the lost hour. The light show at night was stunning, though. Worth a visit, but lower your expectations on efficiency.
The scale of this place is mind-blowing. We spent two full days and still missed a few rides. The Jurassic World rapids get you soaked — bring a poncho! Staff were cheerful and helpful even during the afternoon rush. Minion Land is a blast for kids and adults alike. Only complaint is the food court prices, but you expect that at a theme park. Highly recommend the express pass if you can swing it.
Visited on a Sunday in early May — lines were manageable, but the Harry Potter area was absolutely packed. The Forbidden Journey ride is incredible, but the 3D glasses from the previous rider were smudged, which broke the immersion a bit. Overall a solid day out, though I wish they’d clean the equipment more often. Butterbeer is a must, but it’s way too sweet for me.
