Gongqing Forest Park

Went on a sunny Sunday—huge mistake. It was way too crowded, rubbish bins were overflowing, and I saw people walking on the grass despite the signs. The café was understaffed and the coffee was lukewarm. For a forest park I expected more tranquility, not this chaos.

Needed a break from the city buzz and this park delivered the peace I was looking for. The bamboo grove section was especially calming. Only downside—some signposts are missing or confusing, so I ended up taking a wrong turn. Still, a nice place to recharge.

Hands down the best value in town! Entry fee is super cheap, and you can easily spend the whole day exploring. I packed a picnic and found a quiet spot under a big tree. Clean restrooms and plenty of bins. Can't beat it for a budget-friendly nature escape.

We brought our kids here for a Saturday outing. The playground area kept them busy for hours, though some slides felt a bit worn out. The lakeside walk was lovely and there are plenty of benches to sit and relax. A solid 4-star experience for a family day out.

Absolutely loved this park! The ancient trees and winding trails made for a perfect afternoon hike. The air smelled so fresh, and we even spotted a few squirrels. If you enjoy nature without too many crowds, come early on a weekday. Definitely coming back!
