Came on a weekday morning and practically had the place to myself. The peacefulness made the experience really special—I could hear birds I've never heard before. The lake area is gorgeous for a picnic. My only gripe is that the souvenir shop is overpriced and the maps aren't very accurate. Still, a lovely escape from the city.
Best family outing we had in Kunming! My kids were thrilled feeding the giraffes and watching the elephant bath. The train ride through the safari area was a highlight—we saw rhinos and zebras up close. Everything felt safe and well-organized. Pack your own snacks though, because the on-site food is pricey and mediocre.
Honestly a bit let down. The park is huge and that's cool, but many enclosures felt outdated and the animals looked bored. We waited 20 minutes for a tram that never showed up. On the plus side, the butterfly house was magical. But for the entrance fee, I expected cleaner facilities and more interactive info. It's okay, not great.
A solid day out. The bird show was fantastic, and I really appreciated the conservation efforts. Only reason I'm not giving five stars is that some of the walking paths were a bit uneven and could use better signage. Also, the cafe ran out of bottled water by midday. Still, the variety of species is impressive and the staff were friendly.
Absolutely loved this place! The animals have so much more space than in typical zoos—the lions were lounging under a big tree like they owned the place. I spent a good hour just watching the red pandas play. The setting is incredibly natural, almost like a safari. If you care about animal welfare, this is the park to visit.
