Holiday Beach Haikou

Free entry which is a big plus, and the beach itself is decent – clean enough and good for a swim. My only gripe is that the shaded areas are all taken by paid umbrellas (50 yuan for a basic one), so if you forget your own you're stuck in the sun or paying up. I brought my own towel and just laid it further back under the trees – worked fine. Good value if you come prepared.

Came here specifically for sunset and wow – it did not disappoint! The sky turned shades of orange and pink right over the ocean, and the silhouette of the palm trees made for incredible photos. There's a small food stall near the entrance selling grilled corn and fried squid that's surprisingly delicious and cheap. Totally worth the trip if you're into golden hour magic!

I brought my two kids expecting a clean, family-friendly spot, but honestly I was a bit let down. There was noticeable trash along the shoreline – plastic bottles and bits of styrofoam. The rental price for umbrellas was way too high (80 yuan), and the lifeguard seemed more interested in his phone than watching the swimmers. Beach itself is fine, but for the hassle I'd rather go elsewhere next time.

Nice beach overall with lovely views, but the changing rooms could use a serious upgrade – they were a bit grimy and the shower pressure was almost non-existent. The sand and water quality are great though, and it wasn't too crowded when I visited on a Tuesday. I'd give it a solid 4 if they fix the facilities a bit. Still a good spot to spend a few hours.

Absolutely loved this place! The water was that perfect turquoise color you see in postcards, and the sand was super soft – no rocks or shells to worry about. The lifeguards were really attentive, and there were plenty of clean sunbeds available. I spent the whole day here just swimming and napping under my umbrella. The coconut water stand on the right side of the beach makes the freshest drinks too. Can't recommend it enough for a chill beach day!
