Good zoo but tough to get to without a car. We took a bus from the city center which took almost 2 hours each way. Once there, the scenery is beautiful – it's nestled right in the Qinling foothills. The Siberian tiger enclosure is impressive. However, the shuttle within the park was crowded and we had to wait 30 minutes. If you drive yourself, it's a solid 4-star experience. Just plan ahead.
Such a magical experience! We went early in the morning and practically had the place to ourselves. The highlight was feeding the giraffes – they have a little platform where you can buy lettuce leaves and they eat right from your hand. My kid screamed with joy. The staff were super friendly and the entire park felt safe and well-organized. 5 stars, we'll definitely come back.
I was really looking forward to this place, but honestly left a bit disappointed. Most of the big animals were just lying around sleeping in the heat – I get it, but the timing was bad. The bird park was nice, but the reptile house smelled awful and felt outdated. The map was confusing too, we walked in circles for an hour. Not terrible, but for the price I expected more activity.
Pretty good overall, but I have mixed feelings. The animal exhibits are spacious and the staff seemed knowledgeable. However, the entrance fee felt a bit steep for what you get – you have to pay extra for the bus tour inside. Also, the food options inside were overpriced and mediocre. Still, if you're an animal lover, you'll enjoy the walk-through areas with the deer and peacocks roaming freely.
Honestly one of the best zoos I've been to in China. The variety of animals is incredible – we saw pandas, golden monkeys, and even a rare white tiger. The drive-through safari section was a highlight; the elephants came right up to our car! The whole place felt clean and well-maintained. Perfect for a family day out. Absolutely worth the trip from downtown Xi'an.
