Beijing Wildlife Park

Not what I expected. The park is far from the city center and the shuttle bus from the subway was unreliable. Once inside, signs were confusing and we ended up walking in circles. Some exhibits were closed without notice, and the elephant show felt very repetitive. The only highlight was the baby cheetah cubs in the nursery. For the price, I'd rather go to a smaller zoo with more attentive care.

Loved the self-drive safari - it's the main reason to come here. We rented a car and spent a solid two hours driving through the wild zones. The Siberian tigers were majestic, and a peacock even hopped onto our hood! The walking area is okay, a bit crowded near the monkey section, but the reptile house was surprisingly clean and interesting. Would give 5 stars if the food options were better.

Honestly a bit of a letdown. The park is huge, but many enclosures look tired and the animals seemed lethargic. The 'petting zoo' area had only two goats and a sheep, and they charged extra for every little thing like feeding a carrot stick. Lunch was overpriced and bland. For the money you pay, I expected better conditions. Not sure I'd recommend unless you have really low expectations.

Overall a nice day out, but the crowds were insane on a Sunday. We waited nearly an hour for the small train that goes through the herbivore zone, and when we finally got on, some of the animals just lay around doing nothing. Still, seeing the white tigers up close was pretty cool, and the staff at the giraffe feeding station were friendly. Just wish they'd cap the number of visitors during peak times.

Took my kids here last Saturday and it was absolutely fantastic! The drive-through safari section was the highlight - the animals came right up to the car, and we got some incredible close-up photos of the lions and bears. The walk-through areas are well maintained, and the bird show was surprisingly entertaining. Definitely worth the entrance fee for a full day of family fun. Will be coming back again!

I can’t recommend this place enough if you care about conservation! They have a breeding program for South China tigers and the information boards are actually educational (in English and Chinese). I spent two hours just watching the golden monkeys play – they seem well cared for. The staff gave a talk about the red panda habitat that was really engaging. Yes, the food options are limited and the souvenir shop is a tourist trap, but those are minor. The overall vibe is much more ethical than some other zoos I've visited in Asia. Five stars for the animals' welfare and the educational aspect.

We visited on a hot summer day and the park does a decent job with misting fans and water stations, so that was a plus. The highlight for my wife was the koala enclosure – they were actually awake and munching eucalyptus! The walk-in kangaroo area was also fun, though it felt a bit crowded with tourists trying to feed them. My only real complaint: the map on the app was completely wrong, and we ended up walking in circles for 25 minutes trying to find the exit. Not a dealbreaker, but annoying. Overall a solid 4-star experience – just download a better map beforehand.

The bus tour was fun, but the rest of the park felt tired – peeling paint on some fences, and the reptile house smelled really bad. Many animals were just sleeping far away, so it wasn't great for photos. The staff at the entrance were friendly enough, but the gift shop is a total rip-off (tiny stuffed panda for 120 yuan?). For the same money, I'd rather go to the Beijing Zoo next time. 3 stars – it's fine if you have nothing else to do, but don't expect too much.

Solid day out if you're into wildlife. I went on a weekday and had no crowds, which was nice. The drive-through section felt a bit short – maybe 20 minutes? – but seeing the white tigers and the bears up close was cool. The walkable areas are well maintained and the bird aviary is gorgeous. I gave it 4 stars because the ticket price is steep for what you get (over 200 RMB per adult), and some of the enclosures for smaller animals looked a bit barren. Still, if you time it right and bring your own lunch, it's a good value.

The petting zoo with the little goats was perfect for my 4-year-old. Clean restrooms, plenty of shaded seating, and the staff at the animal feeding stations were patient and friendly. Only minor complaint: the food court is overpriced and the burgers were dry. But we packed snacks so it didn't ruin the day. Highly recommend for families!
